Deborah Miller, having been recognized numerous times by the Wisconsin Music Teacher's Association as a "Teacher Of Excellence" specializes in classical performance training. Her studio consists of students beginning at age six through the college level. She consistently produces award winning and scholarship receiving students. She attributes her success to the fact that she has always sought out the finest teachers for her own personal study. She believes that the study of the piano is not just another casual activity, but something that should be taken seriously. Offering the highest standard of musical excellence, she pushes her students to attain this goal, while still making learning fun. Her studio is the place where even other teachers go to learn.
Deborah holds a B.M. in piano performance from the University of Wisconsin and a M.M. in piano performance from Indiana University. Her major teachers include Christopher Finkelmeyer, Gyorgy Sebok, Stephen Swedish and Annie Petit.
Deborah is also a performer, having made several appearances before the Schubert Music Club of Kenosha as a guest artist. In 2014 she toured Italy and gave performances in several major cities. She is also a church musician, professional accompanist, piano adjudicator for WMTA and WSMA and has spoken to various piano teacher groups within Wisconsin. In addition to teachhing in her private piano studio in Kenosha, she also has given many master classes in southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois
Deborah held the position of President of the Kenosha Music Teacher's Association from 2003 - 2011. She is currently the coordinator of the Margaret Schmitt Memorial Chopin Competition, which is sponsored by the Kenosha Music Teacher's Association and held in the even numbered years.
Deborah's students participate in an annual recital, WMTA Spring Auditions, Badger Auditions, WSMA Solo & Ensemble Festival, The Margaret Schmitt Memorial Chopin Competition as well as the RMTA bi-annual piano competition.
Many of her students have won piano competitions as well as full college scholarships for music.
